I cherish this collection of tracks almost as much as the memories of creating them with him. I love and miss him every day.

'Real'
Loren came over one afternoon back in October of 2010, and after numerous hours of creative improvisation in my studio, we ended up with this piece.
I will never forget how nonchalant he seemed, with everything. After we came up with some music as the basis/start, he just sort of picked up the mic and started singing (what seemed to me like improv, though I am sure he already knew what he was going to sing). He even unexpectedly name dropped my cat (Babies), when she quietly meowed while he was recording the vocal.
I was always amazed at his immense talent, as well as our ability to collaborate very fluidly together. I still remember thinking that, if this was just us messing around, what might we be able to come up with when truly applying ourselves...

'Arkhia'
Another afternoon in the fall of 2010, Loren came over for a session. This time we experimented with using one of his existing lo-fi recordings as the basis for a new song; altering, processing, and adding to it to create something completely different and new. After several hours of fun, we sat back and reveled in this new, strange, and awesome piece we had just birthed.

'Quiet'
Another autumn afternoon 2010, Loren and I sat in the studio messing around. I explained to him how I could take an existing piece of his recorded music, process it a bit, and turn it into an entirely drone/ambient track. He was fascinated and into the idea; this dark, soothing track is the result of that session. We both loved the way it turned out.
